Hotel Balboa Plaza

The only four storey building in Bahia Solano!
Bahía Solano, Colombia

Hotel

By Richard McColl

In the hands of its original owner and creator, Pablo Escobar, this hotel must have been opulent. Now its glory has faded considerably and the external features are desperately in need of some love and affection. Torn and stained awnings flutter in tatters over windows, the garden - while a place to have a beer - has seen better days and the mural beside the pool is weathering into nothingness. One can see the grandeur that was once here in the high-gated entrance. Now, people slink in through a side entrance. The restaurant is passable and when visited many of the rooms were supposedly being renovated.
