For nature and adventure lovers alike, Chocó is packed with options to pass the time. One of the main attractions here are the long stretches of natural beaches. Well worth the money is a stay in one of the region’s excellent eco-lodges, from which you can spot the tell-tale spouts and breaching of the annual migration of the humpback whales. And if getting out to interact with the area is more your speed, you can kayak to and explore one of the many mangroves, visit Embera tribes and see their way of life, or dive to the wreck off Bahia Solano. Other options include surfing at Cabo Corrientes, relaxing at Morromico, hiking through the Utria National Park and sports fishing (best in June or July) off the coast.
