El Faro - Hiking Cabo de Vela - Colombia

The lighthouse is located on the very tip of the cape, warning those at sea of the imminent danger of these rocky shores. These days, it is a modern device keeping watch for sailors. The walk through this desert landscape or along the shore strewn with washed-up fragments of large shells and sea urchins is the main appeal to this spot, as is the view of the sea stretching to an indistinct horizon and the glorious sunsets. If staying to watch the sunset, don鈥檛 begin the trip back too late.
