Cabo de Vela Services
Money
There is no banking or exchange services in Cabo de la Vela. The nearest reliable ATM or place to cash travelers cheques is in Riohacha.
Keeping in Touch
The village’s Telecom is in Hotel Jarrinapi. It charges $0.25 per minute for local or national cellular calls and $0.30 per minute to land lines; international calls begin at $0.60 per minute ($0.80 to U.S.). (Daily 8 a.m.-noon, 2-8 p.m.) Local shops charge $0.30-50 per minute for local and national calls. Cabo de la Vela has no internet café or post office.
Medical
The Centro de Salud is near the entrance to town. The only pharmacy is next door.
Camera
Tienda El Jhor, the bright blue concrete block building before Hotel Jarrinapi, sells Kodak color print film. Otherwise there is nothing else.
