Restaurants As you can expect, the most common item on the menus of Cabo de la Vela’s restaurants is fish—and seafood. The next most frequent appearance is made by goat. Exotic dishes like chicken and beef cost a bit more. Few places have comida corriente, which does not include soup due to the shortage of water. Beverages are a separate charge and, yes, it is true: a beer is cheaper than water here. A few small shops sell canned goods and agua, all of which is more expensive than elsewhere. Purchase several jugs of water with you before leaving Uribia. The water in Cabo de la Vela is salty, thus unsuitable for purification.
