Manaure is a fairly small town, so it is easy to get around on foot. However, during the hottest part of the day, you might want to consider taking a covered bicycle taxi ($0.50). All transportation in Manaure leaves from the various company offices in the street market district, on Carrera 4 between Calles 6 and 9. Mostly, they are shared taxis that depart when full.
To Riohacha: 5 a.m. -4 p.m.; 2 hrs, $6.35
To Uribia*: 6 a.m. -5 p.m.; 20 min, $2.10
To Maicao: 5 a.m. -5 p.m.; 1 hr, $3.70
*Note: For safety and time reasons it is better to transport to Uribia from sunrise to sunset.
From Riohacha, transportation leaves for both Manaure and Uribia from Calle 15 and Carrera 5 (5:30 a.m.-5 p.m.). A less expensive manner to come from Riohacha is to take a bus as far as Cuatro VÃas ($2.10 ), and from there take a pick-up truck or collective taxi ($2.65).
