Things to Do in Riohacha

+ Add a Photo

By Lorraine Caputo

Strolling down the Malecón is a pleasurable way to spend a few hours exploring the many facets of Riohachero life. To take a breather from the burning sun, hide in one of the cultural centers or beneath the shade trees of Parque de Almirante Padilla, the main plaza. Just to the West of the city is Camarones village and Santuario de Flora y Fauna Los Flamencos, a wonderful spot for bird watching. Riohacha is the portal for the Guajira with its intense beauty. On the way to Santa Marta is a little-known gem, Palomino, with deserted beaches.
