Uribia is not a destination in and of itself, except as the Capital Indígena de Colombia and its annual Festival de la Cultural Wayuu. Rather, this is the center of the Guajira landscape. From here roads weave like threads cross the desert to other places to be, to see. Here begins any journey into the Alta Guajira: to Cabo de la Vela, or to Nazareth and the cloud forest reserve Parque Nacional Natural Macuira—or to mythical places, like the Rock of Destiny, the lost city of Puerto López and the end of the world at Punta Gallina.
