Getting To and Away

Bicycle rickshaws ply the streets of Uribia; fares depend on the distance. Transportation leaves from Avenida Fundador, the street on which the market is, or you can ask the company to pick you up at your lodging.

A cheaper way to arrive to Uribia is to take a bus as far as the Cuatro Vías crossroads ($2.10), and from there a collective taxi or pick-up truck ($2.65).

To Maicao: Pick-up truck (camioneta)—6-8:30 a.m.; 1 hr, $2.65.

To Riohacha: Collective taxi—6 a.m.-4 p.m., leave when full; 20 min, $6.35. Also camionetas.

To Manaure: Collective taxi—6 a.m.-5 p.m., leave when full; 1-2 hr, $1.60.

To Cabo de la Vela: Camioneta—9-11 a.m. and 4 p.m.; 1-2 hr, $5.30-8.

To Nazareth: Truck—Sunday 8 a.m. or earlier; 8-10 hr, $16-18.65; leaves from near cemetery.
