Climate, peak seasons

By Lorraine Caputo

Uribia is hot all year long. During the daytime, temperatures climb to 30-35 degrees Celsius (86-95 degrees Fahrenheit). Nights are a cooler 28 degrees Celsius (82 degrees Fahrenheit). In January and February winds help to moderate the heat. Rains can be expected from May - July.

The Festival de Cultura Wayuu is a big event in the region, with participants arriving from all over Wajirra. It draws many national tourists as well. For this time, advance reservations should be made at the established hotels.
