Restaurants in Mompós offer Creole meals as well as standard regional fare. If you are looking for salads and light foods, you won’t have much luck. Most dishes consist of chicken or beef, though one place does offer crepes. If you are looking for more unusual foods, then Mompós might be the ideal destination. Locals here eat just about everything, including sea turtles (Galápagos/icotea), peccary (ponche/chiguiro) and the occasional iguana.
There are some decent bars along the riverfront on the Alberrada that blast out different genres of music alongside one another, including Bar D’ Rumba and Mango Biche Bar. The pick of the bunch and the most historic is Luna de Mompox.
