Things to Do in The Lower Magdalena River Valley
No visit to the Lower Magdalena is complete without some time spent on or beside the river itself. The Magdalena River is intrinsic to Colombian identity and has characterized Colombia's history through thick and thin. With its handsome churches and curious histories, visiting the town of Mompos is quite obviously the main attraction, but something to consider here is that by letting go of luxuries and getting beyond the normal tourist traps and attractions, the traveler will be able to experience the real heartland of Colombia.
