Sports Fishing

Every June and July enthusiast fishermen descend onto the murky pacific waters in Bahia Solano, Cupica and Tribuga in order to participate in catch and release tournaments. The prize is not the money offered as these fishermen well know, but to snare a marlin, measure it and release it - after a photo of course - for bragging rights. Along with marlin people haul in tuna, barracuda and sharks.

Travel Tips: Remember that trips of this nature will be costly given the nature of the sport. Gasoline needs to be stockpiled.

You Need to Bring: Most specialists can provide you with the appropriate fishing gear yet if you are an expert you'll likely bring your own.

Aside from fishing, Bahia Solano offers kayaking, diving, snorkelling and hiking opportunities.
