The military presence is strong here. Any suspicious activities are reported and recorded. Since the conflict is an issue to the north of Bahía Solano, the military checks each hotel and hostel every day to receive updates on guests. Hotel owners are expected to attend security update briefings, at least every fortnight. If you plan on spending any time in Bahía Solano or traveling in the region, you are recommended to register with the DAS office. Registered travelers will receive updates about security issues in the area.
