Hotel Guaduales is built of traditional architecture of this region, of giant bamboo. These rooms are simple--a bit rough, but adequate--with private bath (cold water only, but in this climate, would needs hot?) and mosquito nets on the bed. The many screened windows make the rooms light and airy. The common upstairs balcony has a sea view, and is a perfect place to sit and read or write. The restaurant with front verandah seating serves a comida corriente for $2.65 and beer. Owner doña Yolanda, a jolly but no-nonsense woman, is always ready to ask you, "¿Le provoca un tinto? (Would you like a coffee?)"
