Climate & Geography

By Lorraine Caputo

Tumaco is said to be one of the rainiest places on earth. The wettest months are May to July; the driest are April, May and August. Temperatures year-round range from 25º to 35ºC (77º-95ºF).

Tumaco has become tremendously popular with Colombians. If crowded beaches aren’t quite your scene, you might want to avoid Colombians’ vacation times: Christmas-New Year, Easter week (Semana Santa) and July-August. Prices will also be cheaper outside these periods.
