Medellin has an embarrassment of riches with which to spoil the visitor from the luxury nightspots of Parque Lleras to culturally-excellent museums and curious activities such as riding the cable car over Medellin’s shanty towns. Popular tourist attractions include the Cerro Nutibara with its Pueblito Paisa and the Botanical Gardens.
Beyond the nightlife and museums there is still more to make Medellin a destination for a week or so. There is an emphasis on the arts and very often one can find out that there are free concerts given in one of the city’s theaters or an improv performance in the streets near to El Poblado.
Just a brief stroll in the downtown area will enlighten you to what Medellin has to offer as you move into the shadows thrown by the startling modernity of the Library in the Plaza Cisneros and the Town Hall before looking over at the striking Edificio Inteligente.
If you are interested in further activities aside from the above then Medellin is a fantastic destination for adventure sports. Just on the city limits one can locate opportunities for rock climbing, rafting, parapenting, trekking and rafting.
