Cali Viejo

The City's premier location for dining out on Vallecaucano food is found in a sprawling finca built in 1870 along the River Cali and close to the city's zoo. With a musical trio wandering between tables playing traditional Colombian Andean music and wait staff dressed as if from the 19th century, you'll be forgiven if you feel that you have stepped back in time. The food is typical of the region and is by no means cheap, but, the helpings are enormous and the location is incredible and makes for a great meal out. Try the traditional Champus (Indian beverage prepare with corn meal, corn, pineapple, lulo, cinnamon and panela) and follow it with a hearty grill accompanied by a marranita – a little ball prepared with Pork rind and plantain.
