Adventure Tour

By Richard McColl

Spanning an area of 70 square kilometers, Lake Calima is the largest artificial body of water in Colombia. The lake was created in 1964 when the Government undertook a massive damn project to provide energy for that region. Just 90 kilometers from Cali, it has over time become one of the top weekend destinations for residents of Cali and lovers of water sports.

Visitors can either rent a cabin or camp. Sports available include windsurfing, kitesurfing, sailing, canoing and water skiing, and nearby there are options for parascending and canopy tours.
