Just about every month of the year there is a festival or feria taking place somewhere in the Valle del Cauca, from the remotest hamlet to downtown Cali. In December the Feria de Cali should not be missed, and in June in the town of Ginebra there is the Festival of Andean Music. If you miss those, the annual Feria of Sugarcane in Florida held every March is worth a peek.

Weather-wise, it is harder to predict weather along the coast. A squall can blow up at any time, but the rainier seasons span several months from March to May and then in the second part of the year in October and November. This of course affects Cali. Near to the mountain ranges the climate is cooler.

Average temperatures in the department fluctuate between 23 and 24 degrees Celsius.
