Some good economic hotels are a few blocks from the city’s Pedestrian Mall, along Avenida Bolívar between Calle 21 and 9. Basic accommodations include a clean, well-lit room with private bath, and usually just a fan. It never gets too hot in Armenia to justify having air conditioning. Stick to the area next to the Pedestrian Mall, where there are always people bustling about, as there are a few shady parts of town that you would be best to avoid (like Simón Bolívar, which is not to be mistaken with Plaza de Bolívar).
