Río Blanco Ecological Reserve - City Park Manizales - Colombia

This well-organized eco-park is ready for a high volume of tourists, but few foreigners make the time to visit it. The water of Río Blanco is considered some of the purest in the world, and 35 percent of the water used in Manizales comes from here. Start your visit at the museum by gathering info about the surrounding natural sites. Afterwards, follow a well-mapped route and walk along any of the four distinct trails in the park. Observe the flora and fauna in the cloud forest, then visit the exhibitions and the environmental workshops. There is a pair of spectacled bears here, as well as 256 species of birds and 350 species of butterflies. Bring your raincoat and wear sneakers or boots. It is also best to wear dark-colored clothing to blend in better with the surroundings. Bring binoculars if you have some.

Here are other activities in and around Manizales that may be of interest: Botanical Garden, Los Yarumos Ecological Park and Recinto del Pensamiento.
