Manizales’s city center is hilly and therefore best managed on foot. The newer part of the city like the Zona Rosa is about 10 minutes from Plaza Bolívar by car. You can hail a cab, which should cost you about $2.50, or flag down any bus with a sign for “Av. Santander” and either “Estadio” or “Cable” in the window. All municipal buses cost $0.75 per ride.
