Because of its elevation, temperatures are cool year-round. Expect more rain from March to May and September to November. The biggest festival is the Feria de Manizales, which happens for a good week in January. During this time there are parades, craft fairs, arts and literature events, and a beauty pageant where the Coffee Queen is crowned. An important corrida (bullfight) happens during this Feria too. In late September is the Festival Latinoamericano de Teatro, when there are free concerts in Plaza de Bolívar and special theater events throughout the city.
