The topic of drugs, crime and safety in Santa Fe is a popular one with the locals. Everyone seems to be worried about growing problems and there is certainly plenty of evidence for illicit activity around the center and the bus terminal. However as far as physical harm or robbery is concerned don't expect anything extraordinarily dangerous. Use normal precaution and keep your head up especially at night and off of the main strips of Recoleta and San Martin. Treat Santa Fe with respect but not fear.
