Safety
The 5,000 residents of Salento are used to seeing both national and international visitors year-round. They are therefore very nice, helpful, and accommodating, and you don't have to worry about crime or theft at all. In addition, the tap water here comes from the mountain and is fresh enough to drink! While you're here, you can say goodbye to bottled water and fill up straight from the faucet.
