Coca is fairly well serviced by road and air. The most convenient way to travel to Coca is flying to the Francisco Orellana airport. Flights take around 30 minutes, with both Tame and Icaro offering this service. Tame’s flights leave at 08:00 Monday through Saturday, 16:30 Monday through Friday and 14:00 on Sundays. Their flights from Coca to Quito leave at 09:00 Monday through Saturday, 17:30 Monday through Friday and 15:00 on Sundays. Icaro’s flights take 40 minutes and leave frequently throughout the day Monday through Friday, with a couple of flights on Saturdays and Sundays too. Return flights leave with equal frequency. For those prefering a cheaper, more scenic route, buses can be taken from the bus terminal to the north of the town. However, it isn’t always necessary to head to the terminal in order to take a bus. It is possible to pick up many buses from the roadside in the town itself. If you take the bus to Quito, expect to spend at least eight to ten hours on the bus. There are night bus options too. Buses from here also go to Tena, Lago Agrio, Puyo, Guayaquil, Machala, Santo Domingo and Loja. It is also possible to take a boat to Iquitos in Peru – information regarding this can be obtained at the docks.
