Roughly 7 hours southeast of Quito, Misahualli, like nearby Tena is a popular destination for weekend jungle excursions.
From Quito, Cooperativos Amazonas has direct buses to Misahualli leaving at 11:30 am and returning from Misahualli at 8:30 am everyday ($7).
Should you want more flexibility, your best bet is to take a bus to Tena via Baeza (5 to 6 hours, runs frequently) and make the connection to Misahualli from there. Try to book in advance – buses tend to fill up on the weekends. Tena is also a good base from which to make other long distance connections.
