A Welcome Break has a great location just off Tena's main street. The block is quiet and pleasantly mixed into a Quichua area. The hostel is cozy and simple with all the basic amenities. The shared kitchen looks a little run down, but is clean. There is an outdoor patio with hammocks to relax on as well. The rooms are also clean, with private bathrooms and shared bathrooms and hot water. The price is $5 pp for a shared bathroom and $8 pp for a private bathroom.
There is a restaurant on-site called Veronica's Place that serves breakfast only. For $2.00 you can choose from a menu of fruit, pancakes, egss etc. The restaurant is open 07:30 - 10:30.
If you are interested in organizing a tour, Lefer Turismo is the on-site travel agency that is certified by the Municipal Gobierno de Tena and the Dirreccion de Turismo y Ambiente. Tours cost between $35 and $45 per person per day and include rafting, motor canoeing and much more. Equipment is included.
