During your time in Puyo, the Jardín Botánico La Orquideas is a must add to your travel iterary. Located in the suburb of Intipungo, which is about a fifteen minute car ride from Puyo, this garden has an unreal selection of flora. What really makes this attraction is its owner, Omar Taeyu, who is always eager to share his love of plants with visitors.

Take a cab from Puyo, the fare should be under five bucks.

100%This garden is an incredible spot to see orchids in a natural setting, in addition to seeing the process of ecological restoration in the Amazon. The owner is a fascinating self-taught biologist who has been working for almost 30 years to restore this land.
