Getting to and Away
Puyo is often a starting out point to the jungle, and thus there are regular buses to the area. From Quito you often have to go through Ambato, and the total trip time will be around 5 to 7 hours, depending on your wait time in Ambato. There are also regular buses to and from Tena (3.5 hours), Riobamba (5.5 hours) and Baños (2 hours).
If you want a little more adventurous trip to Puyo, there is a popular day long bike ride from the city from Baños.
