Museo de la Provincia de Tungurahua - Museum Ambato - Ecuador

The Museo de la Provincia de Tungurahua is housed in the airy Casa de Portal, neighboring the cathedral on Parque Montalvo. The Casa de Portal, built in 1900, is a beautiful example of republican architecture, and was mostly recently-and lovingly-restored in 2011. The museum is dedicated to the art and culture of the Tungurahua province, and consists of paintings, photographs and archaeological finds from the region.
