Gala Hotel was opened in November 2004 on a quiet street to the southeast of the center of Baños. The hotel has a sterile, modern feel, but what Gala lacks in character it makes up for in comfort and cleanliness. The rooms are spacious and all have TVs with cable. Ask for one of the two rooms with a balcony and view of the mountains and waterfall. The highlight is Pancho Villa, a delicious Mexican restaurant on the ground floor of the hotel. The per-person rate of $10 jumps up to $15 during Carnival and Semana Santa (the week before Easter).
