The owners of Hospedaje Santa Cruz have two establishments in Baños, both located in the area of town near the waterfall and hot springs. Their other location, Plantas y Blancos, is $1 cheaper, and has a rooftop terrace and breakfast café which only guests (of either hotel) can visit. Santa Cruz is the tamer and quieter of the two, as its draws less of a backpacker scene than its sibling hotel. With a community lounge, fireplace, garden and self-service drinks, the atmosphere is relaxed and cozy. Additionally, there are hammocks to lounge in, a kitchen area, and a garden where you can sit or sunbathe.

A cool place !

This place is cool with his fireplace and garden. It's easy to meet people because you can cook yourself and can watch movies. It's not big, and you feel a family atmosphere. Recommended!

Good experience

Free internet, spacious rooms. It is now $2.20 for breakfast, and I would say skip it. It is only Nescafe or tea, bread, jam and butter. There are cheaper and better breakfasts in town.

mi español no ser mucho bueno .. pero yo puedo recomendar este hostel a los turistas porque tener mucho bueno todo.. the personas son muy amables y todo lindo y limpio con free internet... yo recomendar ser bueno ..y el personal estar preparado para una evacuacion del volcano erupcion ellos nos infomaron de todo y nos cuidaron mucho

Excellent place to stay in Banos Ec.

I had a wonderful time here. The staff was great, very friendly and helpful with information about everything in the area. The rooms are with private bath, clean and spacey. Clean bed sheets and towels were provided. The self service kitchen were I cooked my meals was the best. Best music in town. Very relaxing place to stay. And for the price you can´t beat it. I would stay here again if I ever return. I rate it a 9 out of 10. I highly recomend it. My stay in banos was outstanding thanks to Santa Cruz and the staff. Thanks guys....

Not as good as reviews suggested

I thought the staff were friendly. Other than this...I would have got no sleep at all if I hadn´t had earplugs due to noise of the cafe just outside my room and a rooster crowing next door from 4am. Also my room was very musty and the shower was freezing half of the time. Other places I have stayed have been just as cheap and a lot nicer!

this hostal-hospedaje has been one of the best among the other ones in town that I did visited. It has so many interesting features, such as: friendly people, Free Internet, a relaxing family room with a chimey , a T.V.musical videos,games, reading books, and some others entertaiments, and besides of all of these marvellous things that I did see, this got my attention and impressed me that it has a wonderful natural plants and flowers Garden,sorrounding all the Hostal Areas, like when you take a view into the Mother-Nature in the Ecuadorian Jungle.

Hammock with a View

The view from outside the cosy courtyard was beautiful, I felt safe . Its not the hilton but why go to Baños if you´re looking for luxury. We walked all over, up and down the town. I can´t wait to go there again.
