Casa Hood

Tucked away behind the market, part café/restaurant, part bookshop, part cinema, Casa Hood is an eccentric gem. The decorations made up of family snapshots, leftover New Years masks and bizarre art work combine with the friendly and helpful staff to create a great atmosphere. The international food is truly delicious and very reasonably priced - try the blackened Cajun-style sea bass, falafel plate, spicy curry, or black bean stir fry. There is also an extensive choice for vegetarians, in addition to yummy desserts and coffee drinks. The book trade, afternoon cinema show (4 p.m.) and the end of evening happy hour (9.30 - 10.30 p.m.) make this a place not to be missed.

Arrogance...

The employees are very friendly and professional, but the owner is very arrogant and not wellcoming at all. I've been there once and will never go back. Sad, because the place itself is nice.

The best in Baños

Great spot that I wish we'd found sooner. It's off the main drag a couple of blocks, but the atmosphere is great. There is lots of character and a great book collection, not to mention killer food.

Great Hood

This is just a great place to chill out. Drink some of their great teas, their food is very tasty, spicy. Just great.

Me encanta La Casa Hood

La Casa Hood was one of the places that I enjoyed going to during our stay in Baños. The atmosphere was wonderful and the coffee was terrific! I would definitely recommend that while in Baños you check out La Casa Hood.

Best place in Baños

I have been to Baños a couple of times and though I have tried some other restaurants, I keep going back to Casa Hood. Basically, I think the food is great, the atmosphere is fantastic and every time I go I stay there longer than planned just hanging out. And, my mother loves it, too!

Such Happy Memories

I have such happy memories of Baños. It is a really magical beautiful place with that incredible mountain and the waterfall as a backdrop, gushing water noises as we slept. The volcano rumbling in the distance just made it an out of this world experience. Casa Hood was all wrapped up in that, I miss it.
