Tour operators in Quito and other cities offer packages to Parque Nacional Cotopaxi. Most climbing expeditions are also arranged through these agencies.
Lodges within and outside the park also offer a variety of tours, including climbing, hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding. These are not only for their guests, but also for people only spending the day in the reserve (reservations must be made in advance). All guides must be licensed, follow the environmental protection norms of the park and be in good physical condition (including not drunk or hung over).
