Tambopaxi - Hostel Cotopaxi National Park - Ecuador

Set just inside Parque Nacional Cotopaxi, Tambopaxi is an acclimatization center that advertises itself as "the best place to stay and climb Cotopaxi." At 3,720 meters (12,202 ft) altitude, Tambopaxi offers two huts hosting private rooms with private baths, and dormitories, as well as campsites. Whilst the buildings are the only ones visible for miles, the careful use of construction materials and close attention to aesthetic detail mean they blend into the natural environment. Day trippers may enjoy Tambopaxi’s restaurant which offers delicious, hearty set meals with a stunning view of Cotopaxi on clear days.
