Getting Around

Latacunga is a small city, and it's fairly quick and easy to find your way around. In fact, it's really small enough to walk anywhere if you're in the mood; even the bus terminal is only a 15-minute walk from the city center. Registered yellow taxis buzz around the city, charging around $1 for a short ride (at night, ask your hotel to call you one, to be on the safe side). Another transportation option is bicycle: Bike Life rent out bicycles by the day; $8 a day will get you a bike, protection, helmet, and local map routes (Sánchez de Orellana 16-85 and Guayaquil. Tel: 224-5245/097-700-999, E-mail: joaquin-echeverria@hotmail.com. Monday to Saturday 9 a.m-7.30 p.m.).
