Getting To And Away From Cotacachi

Cotacachi is served by frequent buses to and from Otavalo and Ibarra. The town's bus station is located on 10 de Agosto and Salinas; if you're closer to the main plaza, Parque La Matriz, you can also catch the bus to Otavalo or Ibarra from here (buses stop on Calle Modesto Peñaherrera-look out for the green bus stop).

To Ibarra ($0.30, 25 min): buses leave every 10 to 15 minutes between 6 a.m.-6 p.m.

To Otavalo ($0.25, 20 min): buses leave every 10 to 15 minutes between 6 a.m.-6 p.m.

If you're planning on heading to Laguna Cuicocha from Cotacachi, note that there is no public transport. Instead, you can hire a taxi or truck to take you there for around $6 per car (taxis line up around Plaza la Matriz and also on the corner of 10 de Agosto and Bolivar).
