This quiet little hole-in-the-wall place offers just four rooms for rent on the first floor of the owner’s house. The wooden rooms are pretty basic, with sagging beds and thin walls, and the cement-floor shower in the shared bathroom spits out coldish water, but what the residencial lacks in comfort it amply makes up for in warmth and friendliness. The cheerful owner, señora Oliva, will happily make you herb tea at night in the carpeted bar downstairs and will whip up breakfast for $1.50.
