
This eco-conscious bed and breakfast located in the village of El Limonal, 43 kilometers (27 mi) northwest of Ibarra, is committed to sustainability, education, and the comfort of their guests. Not only do they offer freshly made meals, a swimming pool and spacious rooms, they also work hard to teach their guests about ecological restoration, permaculture, and agro-forestry—principles that guide their business practices.
Guests have a choice of private or shared rooms. Each room has a porch and hammock for relaxing. Breakfast is included in the price of the room but lunch and dinner are available for an added fee. Getting There:
Take the road called Tulcán. Thirty minutes outside of Ibarra look for a sign to Salinas and turn left on the road to San Lorenzo and Esmeraldas. If you are taking a bus from Ibarra, get off at the El Limonal stop. You will have to notify the driver. Walk 300 meters behind the village, uphill.
