Buses to Ibarra leave from Quito’s Terminal Terrestre frequently, and take approximately 3 hours to arrive ($3). Ibarra is a common stop on the way to Otavalo, which is 45 minutes away.
Note that Ibarra does not have a centralized bus station – instead, each cooperative has its own. The following are bus cooperatives in Ibarra:
Supertaxis Los Lagos (Flores 924 and Sánchez Cifuentes, Parque La Merced), goes to and from Otavalo, Quito and Tulcán.
Trans Andina (Chica Narváez), goes to and from Quito, Otavalo and Tulcán.
Expreso Turismo (Moncayo between Flores and Vacas), goes to from Otavalo, Quito and Tulcán.
Trans Otavalo (Av. F. E. Vacas), goes to and from Otavalo and Quito.
