Lago San Pablo

Lago San Pablo, located a few miles southeast of Otavalo, is another good hiking destination in the Northern Andes. One of the most visited lakes in Ecuador, you'll find that there are several places to stay on the edge of the large lake offering a number of activities anywhere from sailing to waterskiing. You can also take a day hike around the circumference and take in the beautiful view of the Imbabura volcano.

To get to Lago San Pablo you'll have to take any one of the buses from Otavalo ($0.25) that depart in that direction every 15-20 minutes. The journey there shouldn't take more than 20 minutes.

Other places nearby Lago San Pablo: Tumbabiro, Agato, Otavalo, Salinas Valley, Ibarra, Quito, Mascarilla, Oyacachi, San Antonio De Ibarra and Cotacachi.
