Hacienda Primavera - Hotel Northern Andes - Ecuador

The hotel, which has been owned by the same family for over 90 years, is located three hours northwest of Quito. The hacienda is a working ranch with horses, pigs, goats, cattle, llamas and donkeys, and is surrounded by a lush forest with prolific bird life. There are eight suites with exquisite views of the rainforest, all with private bathrooms and balconies.The proprietors make every effort to keep their lodge eco-friendly through organic recycling and other earth-conscious efforts. The restaurant serves gourmet meals daily, using organic crops from the hacienda and local farms. The lodge can help organize local activities such as horseback riding, whitewater rafting, Autoferro train rides, hiking, and opportunities to participate in the day-to-day running of the hacienda.
