Hostería Pantaví was constructed on the ruins of the old San Clemente hacienda. The hotel has 12 lovely rooms in a beautiful, peaceful setting. There is also a variety of ethnic art on the walls of the main house, painted by the owner, Camilo Andrade. Many of these pieces have been inspired by his interest in the local archeology and Ecuadorian mythology.
Pantaví is located near a variety of interesting places to visit: the Cotacachi-Cayapas Reserve, Arco Iris and Chachimbiro hot springs, El Ángel Ecological Reserve and a number of Caranqui archeological sites.
The hacienda is not far from the Chota valley, where the Afro-Ecuadorian inhabitants produce interesting masks. Hostería Pantaví is a great stopping-off point on the way to the northern coast of Ecuador.
The hostería has a swimming pool and conference facilities, as well as areas for tennis and volleyball. The dozen rooms vary in capacity and bed size, so make sure to ask to see your room when you arrive or check ahead of time when you make reservations. Members of the staff speak Sçanish, English, French, German, Dutch, Portuguese and Italian.
