The hostel Aya Huma is a decent and economical option for those who would prefer to stay outside of Otavalo after a long day at the market. Rooms are basic, but clean and with very hot showers. Rooms along the edge of the road can be a little noisy at night, so try to get one that is located down below, away from the passing folk. Rooms come with or without bathroom. They have a book exchange, lots of information for travelers and there is a pleasant shop with good quality, locally-made products for sale. The hotel has an adjoining restaurant.
