In Peguche there aren't a whole lot of options for food, so it's just as well that the adjoining restaurant to the Aya Huma hostel is decent. The menu is a respectable size with lots of the typical Ecuadorian fare, but some other alternatives too, including a couple of pasta options and some vegetarian choices. Portions are hearty. Service is at a leisurely pace, so while you wait for your food, sit back and listen to the pan pipe band that regularly play, and watch the local kids doing a traditional dance show.

Price Description: Mains run from $3.50 to $7 or so.

Getting There: The restaurant is opposite the aya humi hostel, just across the train tracks.
