Hotel

V!VA User‘s Description

Set back from the street in an unassuming colonial building, this hotel has a friendly, homey feel. Arranged around a small leafy courtyard are three floors of moderately-sized en-suite rooms, all of which are tastefully decorated with simple wooden furniture, local art and craftwork. The suite on the top floor has a kitchenette, sitting area and double bedroom, all with stunning views over the rooftops and mountains beyond – it’s a deal at $39. On the ground floor there’s a small sitting room with a good book exchange. The restaurant is justly famous for its delicious thin crust pizzas, served between 6 pm and 9 pm every day.  The Mediterranean-style restaurant is open from about midday on weekends until ten o'clock at night.

Traveler Reviews of Hotel Dona Esther

Hotel Doña Esther: Nice spot

Rating: 75%

The overall appearance is simply charming. The rooms are clean and comfortable, but spartan. Beds are comfortable and loaded with a deep layer of wonderful blankets. No toilet paper allowed in the toilet, but anyone who has sailed will be OK with that. The location is a delight, a short hike from the Saturday morning animal market and several steps from the main square. Many convenience markets on the street for water and snackies. The restaurant is good, however, I personally do not recommend the 'Ragout'. Just not my fave. Overall, great price performance.

a gem of a find

Rating: 100%

From the outside it looks like many other buildings in town. Upon walking thru the door and into the inner courtyard you are in awe of the simple beauty of the hotel. Colorfully decorated and spotless. The friendly owners offer very satisfying service in all matters. Also some of the best meals in town and it's centrally located to the various markets. The rooftop view is awesome. If you must have an elevator....they have none.

clean and comfortable

Rating: 75%

We enjoyed our 3 day stay at this hotel. It was clean, comfortable, convenient and reasonably priced. The only negative thing was it could be a little noisy in the evenings but only if you had a room above the restaurant.
