La Casa Sol - Otavalo

La Casa Sol is more than a hotel, it is a home integrated into the daily life of the indigenous communities of the sector. La Casa Sol is located inside the "Cascada de Peguche" (Waterfall of Peguche) Protected Forest. The Kichwa de Peguche community is a privileged and energetic place where guests will be able to enjoy evenings and sceneries that will leave them breathless.

Brightly colored walls and artwork adorn the entire property. Most rooms have expansive views of Cotocachi Volcano and the valley below. Traditional local food served in the cozy dining room rounds off the full sensory Andean experience.

Casa Sol coordinates a community tourism project which provides tours of workshops and cooperatives in and around Peguche. Local artisans show you how their traditional handicrafts are made and offer a behind-the-scenes look into the making of the Otavalo market. The hotel is owned by Marcos Lema, an Otavaleño musician and entrepreneur who also started the original Casa Sol Bed and Breakfast in Quito. Both are highly recommended.

Wonderful Stay

I stayed here with my Mom and Aunt for a night, and we all had a fabulous time. The hotel is very quaint, and the area is beautiful. Plus it only cost $60 and that included a great dinner and breakfast. I highly recommend this hotel.

Very lovely hotel!!!
