Árbol de Montalvo

El Árbol de Montalvo is an eatery located in the back of the Hostal Doña Esther. The restaurant has a cozy bistro-like atmosphere, which is at least partly due to the big wood-burning oven in the middle of the space. Árbol de Montalvo serves Mediterranean food and, besides the variety of plates, specializes in pizzas, which are made in the wood-burning oven right before your eyes. The typical Ecuadorian dishes also have their place on the menu. Open Monday - Thursday, 7 - 11 a.m. and 6 - 9 p.m.; Friday - Sunday, 7 a.m. - 10 p.m.

Authentic Italian

The steak pizzaiola was absolutely scrumptious - some of the only good Italian food I've gotten in Ecuador. Don't be put off if the place is empty. Also, I would say this is not the place to get traditional food like fritada - it's good and clean, but the portions are small.

Perfect place

I live for 6 months in Otavalo and eat here many times. It´s lovely, the best food in Otavalo and the owners are really nice people!!
